Across Uganda, many women carry the heavy responsibility of raising children alone. Without stable income, social support, or access to resources, single mothers often struggle to provide food, education, and shelter for their families. These challenges keep them trapped in poverty, with little opportunity to rebuild their lives.
At One Hand Mission, we stand alongside single mothers through the Hope Rebuilding program. We provide immediate relief for struggling households, while also focusing on long-term empowerment. Women receive training in vocational skills such as tailoring and crafts, as well as guidance in small business management. Some are supported with start-up resources to begin income-generating activities that sustain their families. In addition, counseling and community support groups help restore confidence and emotional well-being.
The transformation is powerful. Single mothers gain financial independence, their children are able to attend school, and entire families experience renewed dignity and stability. By equipping mothers with tools and opportunities, we break cycles of poverty and create lasting hope for generations to come.
