Climate Conservation

Climate Conservation, Uganda

Uganda’s rural communities depend heavily on natural resources for survival. Yet deforestation, soil degradation, and the effects of climate change are threatening both livelihoods and the environment. Families face reduced harvests, increased food insecurity, and greater vulnerability to floods and droughts.

At One Hand Mission, we believe protecting the environment goes hand in hand with empowering communities. Through the Climate Conservation program, we promote tree planting, agroforestry, and regenerative farming practices that restore soil fertility and increase biodiversity. Farmers are trained in sustainable land management, while schools and local groups are engaged in awareness campaigns on caring for the environment.

These efforts are already creating lasting change. Communities are planting trees that provide shade, fruit, and income. Farmers are producing healthier crops while protecting their land from erosion. By restoring ecosystems, we are not only fighting climate change but also securing food and income for future generations.
